A string of forthcoming events will celebrate the life and work of acclaimed British landscape photographer Fay Godwin in Machynlleth, Wales. Organised and curated by Diane Bailey and Geoff Young of Pen’rallt Gallery Bookshop the project comprises exhibitions, talks and walks in the surrounding area.

Exhibition - A Clearly Marked Path
18 February 2017 - 01 April 2017 Pen’rallt Gallery Bookshop, Machynlleth, Wales

This exhibition explores the concept of landscape through the work of contemporary British photographers and runs parallel to the Fay Godwin exhibition The Drovers' Roads Of Wales And Other Photographs at the MOMA Machynlleth. A Clearly marked Path includes work by John Blakemore, Peter Cattrell, John Davies, Pete Davis, Marian Delyth, Caroline Forbes, Paul Hill, Aled Rhys Hughes, Jim Perrin, Jeremy Moore, Jean Napier, Tony Stokes, Tom Teichmann, Roger Tiley and Jane Whittle.
This exhibition will take place at the Pen’rallt Gallery Bookshop.

Exhibition - The Drovers' Roads Of Wales And Other Photographs
18 February 2017 - 01 April 2017 MOMA Machynlleth, Wales

This exhibition focuses on Fay Godwin’s work for The Drovers’ Roads of Wales book (with Shirley Toulson) which was published in 1977 and includes many of her best known work. In addition, landscape photographs from throughout her career are shown with extended captions by those who knew and worked with her during her lifetime.
This exhibition will take place at the MOMA Machynlleth.

The Ghost Road Talk
1 March 2017, 12:00 – 13:00, Pen’rallt Gallery Bookshop, Machynlleth, Wales

Writer Mike Parker will take us on a journey along the tracks, paths and roads that have shifted in and out of focus over generations and challange our concept of the landscape.
This event will take place at the Pen’rallt Gallery Bookshop.

The Ghost Road Walk
5 March 2017, 10:00 - 13:00, Pen’rallt Gallery Bookshop, Machynlleth, Wales

A walk with writer Mike Parker along an old drovers' route, now variously a bridleway, a hollow-way, a track and a lane. Organised by Diane and Geoff from Pen'rallt Gallery Bookshop, booking is essential. £5
This event will start at the Pen’rallt Gallery Bookshop.

Fay Godwin Day Event
11 March 2017, 10:30 – 15:30, MOMA Machynlleth, Wales

A day of talks, film, discussion and homage to British landscape photographer, walker and campaigner, Fay Godwin (1931 – 2005) including Don't Fence Me In – exclusive film preview and, in person, photographers: Peter Cattrell, Pete Davis, Marian Delyth (chair); Film-maker: Charles Mapleston; Fay Godwin archivist: Dr Geraldine Alexander; writer Mike Parker; and invited contributions in appreciation of Fay Godwin and her work. £15 (£10 concessions)
