About

Born and raised in Thuringia, Germany, my interest in photography began when I was given my grandfather's battered, old Box Brownie camera. Loaded with film, I started to capture the world around me, from the simple beauty of a leaf to the sweeping landscapes of my homeland.

Now, over 30 years later, I am still captivated by the way light can transform a mundane scene into something extraordinary, something of great beauty which only a photograph can preserve and convey.

After a short stance in digital photography, I continue to photograph with analog cameras and film because I believe that a great photograph deserves time, effort and patience as well as the unique feel of film which only analog photography can afford.
